2018 Request for Workshop Proposals

Will you help us provide another dynamic WECA conference experience? You are invited to share your expertise by submitting a proposal for consideration for the 2018 WECA Conference. Our goal is to create opportunities for early childhood professionals to network with one another, improve skills, gain new knowledge, and be recognized for their valuable work with children and families.

ABOUT THE 2018 CONFERENCE

This year’s conference will kick off with an event for Families and Professionals together on Thursday evening on the topic of “screen time and its effects on young children” with Lisa Guernsey, author and director of the Learning Technologies Project at New America.

Lisa Guernsey will also keynote our conference on Friday morning. The remainder of the day, along with Saturday, will include a combination of workshop sessions and Ed Talks – short, high energy sessions focused on distinct themes.

We are especially looking for sessions that fit into the following themes: technology, anti-bias education, reflective practice, play, and developmentally appropriate practice.

We anticipate that the conference will blend “big ideas” from research, views from the field, and best practices by child care teachers and providers. We expect conference participants to engage in discussion, experiential learning, play and exploration. Following are guidelines for submission of a proposal.
