Daytime Session: Making Connections: Pathways of Poverty Through a Racial Equity and Cultural Lens

October 21, 2020 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Join Beyond Dane Chapter of WECA’s Community Partners for Their Equity Training Series.

Individuals and families experiencing poverty are often invisible to us, even though we may encounter them every day. Participants in this interactive virtual workshop series will explore the pathways of poverty and discuss the barriers related to the dimensions of poverty, such as nutrition, language, housing, transportation and how race and culture intersect these pathways and barriers. Because poverty is often generational, this workshop series will also explore how that toxic stress may manifest itself through the various stages of life and how communications may act as triggers.

Presented by: Jeanne F. Erickson, Director of Project Babies
