The Wonder of Learning: A Day of Exploration for Early Educators
March 30 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm
WECA invites you to join us for a Morning of Exploration with The Wonder of Learning – a national traveling exhibit that will be in Madison from mid-January until May 1, 2019. Hosted by Preschool of the Arts, Madison Public Library, and Overture Center for the Arts, the exhibit is an unprecedented opportunity for educators, policymakers, and families to explore the incredible learning potential in the early years of childhood. The exhibit visually presents the internationally acclaimed Reggio Emilia approach to early education, using images and text, interactive multimedia, handmade artifacts, and publications. To learn more, visit the website: Wonder of Learning Wisconsin.
Any educator is invited to take a self-guided tour of this FREE exhibit and earn 1.5 hours of Registry credit. But if you’d like to have time to discuss and reflect with colleagues, join us on one of these days, and earn 3 hours of Registry credit.
All Wisconsin early educators are invited to join us from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon at the Madison Central Public Library, downtown Madison, 201 W. Mifflin Street. We will meet and greet in the 3rd floor Community Room, view the exhibit which is largely installed in the beautiful new Youth Services Room, with a portion next door at the Overture Center for the Arts, and then re-group in the Community Room for reflection and facilitated discussion.
You could make it a whole day of exploration by having lunch with friends at a nearby downtown restaurant and spending the afternoon exploring one of the downtown museums (Madison Children’s Museum, Madison Museum of Contemporary Art, Veteran’s Museum, State Historical Society Museum) or the State Capitol, all within easy walking distance of the library.
