WECA: A Cross-Sector Collaborator
When Rachel Peller thinks of WECA, “dot connector” comes to mind. Director of Wisconsin Partners, Rachel has worked alongside WECA for many years and been witness to its work as both a connector of organizations of all kinds and on early care and education as a central quality of life issue for everyone in Wisconsin – even those who may not immediately recognize it.
“WECA has done an exceptional job at bringing associations from other sectors to the table around early care and education – they know this is an upstream issue that impacts healthcare, seniors, local government, and the nonprofit field,” Rachel said. “WECA is a convener and shows the impact of early childhood with others.”
Wisconsin Partners, formally founded in 2017, is a membership-based coalition of statewide associations and community-based civic groups. It started taking informal shape in 2011 with conversations among civic groups and other organizations convening community gatherings in 2014 and 2015. The effort relies on the belief that organizations and individuals need trust-based relationships across sectors, perspectives, and communities to best respond to crises and advance initiatives together.
WECA, a founding member of Wisconsin Partners, remains a steadfast supporter of its multi-sector work to collaborate for a better Wisconsin. Rachel continues to view WECA as a respected convener and a leader in helping families and communities advance solutions of a “root cause” issue – access to and affordability of high-quality child care.
“Working with the WECA team, it is clear staff all believe in their work – each has a thoughtful care and passion for the work their doing, and they’re brilliant. As a partner, you know you can rely on WECA,” Rachel shared.
WECA: Un colaborador multisectorial
Cuando Rachel Peller piensa en WECA, viene a su mente el término “punto de conexión”. Rachel, directora de Wisconsin Partners, ha trabajado junto a WECA durante muchos años y ha sido testigo de su trabajo como punto de conexión de organizaciones de todo tipo y del cuidado y la educación infantil como un tema central de calidad de vida para todos en Wisconsin, incluso para aquellos que no lo reconocen de inmediato.
“WECA ha hecho un trabajo excepcional al traer a la mesa socios de otros sectores en torno al cuidado y la educación infantil: saben que este es un problema en aumento que afecta el cuidado de la salud, las personas mayores, el gobierno local y el campo de las organizaciones sin fines de lucro”, dijo Rachel. “WECA convoca y muestra el impacto de la primera infancia con otros”.
Wisconsin Partners, fundada formalmente en 2017, es una coalición basada en la membresía de asociaciones estatales y grupos cívicos comunitarios. Comenzó de manera informal en 2011 con conversaciones entre grupos cívicos y otras organizaciones que convocaron reuniones comunitarias en 2014 y 2015. El esfuerzo se basa en la creencia de que las organizaciones y las personas necesitan relaciones basadas en la confianza entre sectores, perspectivas y comunidades para responder mejor a las crisis y avanzar juntos en las iniciativas.
WECA, miembro fundador de Wisconsin Partners, sigue siendo un firme partidario de su trabajo multisectorial para colaborar por un Wisconsin mejor. Rachel continúa viendo a WECA como una organización respetada y líder en ayudar a las familias y las comunidades a buscar soluciones a un problema “desde su raíz”: el acceso y la asequibilidad al cuidado infantil de alta calidad.
“Al trabajar con el equipo de WECA, está claro que todo el personal cree en su trabajo: cada persona tiene un cuidado atento y una pasión por el trabajo que hace, y son brillantes. Como socio, sabes que puedes confiar en WECA”, compartió Rachel.
